Let’s get lost in a crypt with the Tarot Labyrinth!

Tarot Labyrinth – Personal interactive self-awareness performance of the Living Picture Theater

The Tarot Labyrinth follows an exceptional performance form: through interactive communicative situations you are called into a self-knowledge performance or if you like into a philosophical roll-game. This time the scene is a crypt in which the visitor wanders individually. At the entrance you can choose from 24 cards turned upside down. These cards are several thousand years old symbols of our life-roles – the Major Arcana (the word “Arcanum” means remedy) – and you will personalize one of them during the self-knowledge pilgrimage wearing a hat the colour of which is in compliance with the chosen Arcanum.

If you start your journey in the crypt to find yourself and to get to know yourself, in small spaces of the crypt, Living Mirrors – the Major Arcana revived from the cards – will wait for you and show their reflections from the aspect of their roles to your role.Your task will be to recognise which are the mirrors that reflect your personality or your present life-role the most. On the way you can make notes about the certain experiences of the encounters – we give you a booklet for it.

The performance inspires you to meditate on the different essential archetypical ideas of life – that are recognizable in the Tarot cards – about their relations and their presence in your life or in your actual life situation. The aim of the performance is that you understand and live your role, and you make revelations and decisions which will also have an impact on your individual live. 

For the self-recognition game it is recommended to know the meanings of the Major Arcana, so you can easier delve into the interpretation or empathy of the meanings of messages addressed to your role. For this we will send our description to the given e-mail address after your registration.

Octopus Tarot Labyrinth has been invited to Sziget Festival every year between 2003-2014, and has been invited to other festivals in Győr (Győrkőc Festival), Budapest, Novi Sad (INFANT), Lille (Lille 3000) and Timisoara (PLAI Festival) as well as to other venues. We organised this program without the labyrinth installation 5 times already for example in the Japanese Garden of Marton Varga Gardening School in 2016-2017 and in 2015-2016 here in the crypt of Kiscelli Ruin Church.

In Tarot Labyrinth you can meet 24 characters in your own sequence. On average 6 meetings fit in one hour, so if you want to meet each characters the visit can take nearly 4 hours. The visit can be finished any time but at 7.30 PM the crypt will close.

The booking fee you are requested to transfer to the the bank account of Living Picture Association. Please write your name used at registration to the communication box, only this way your registration becomes final.  If the bank transfer is not arriving within three days your registration will be deleted. The amount of the booking fee will not be returned in case of cancellation. If you are unable to transfer money, the amount of the booking fee can be paid personally at the office of the association personally checked at +36- 70-3387002 phone number.

The registration and the transferred booking fee are together a valid reservation. The rest of the ticket price, depending on the time spent in the garden is to be paid on the spot. Please note that upon arrival we ask the price of the whole period until closing time as deposit and at the end of the visit we will refund the remaining amount according to your time spent inside.
