A series of Susan Anwin’s short stories is launching at Art Here Art Now tomorrow

Let us introduce you writer Susan Anwin whose short stories are going to appear on our website from tomorrow on for six weeks!

My name is Julianna Bihari, I use the pen name Susan Anwin in writing. I was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary. I received a B.A. and an M.A. degree (Teaching English as a Second Language, and English) from ELTE University Budapest. Currently I’m studying Creative Writing at the University of Aberdeen.

My first writing was published when I was 14 years old; to date that is still my only work written and published in Hungarian. At some point in my career I switched to English and found that I’m much less inhibited, much more free when it comes to expressing myself.

I mentioned that I was first published at 14, but it wasn’t until I was 27 and living in Jerusalem, Israel, that I realized that maybe this is what I should be doing. Not long after I moved to Iceland, and it was during this time that my flash-fiction Talk of Armadale trees was selected to be among the stories to appear in the anthologyMy Favourite Place, published by the Scottish Book Trust in 2012.

After Iceland it was Scotland’s turn, and this is where I’m living at the moment. Several of my short stories were published by various magazines in 2016, 2017 and 2018. My name appeared on the cover of Aphelion Webzine in March and July 2017, and February and August 2018.
