Led Zeppelin 50

Led Zeppelin, one of the most influential, British band, celebrates its 50. anniversary this year.

Led Zeppelin, founded in 1968 and considered as the first heavy metal band, created 8 studio albums. Until these days, it’s the one and only band that had all its albums featured on American Billboard Top 10. After drummer John ‘Bonzo’ Bonham’s death 1980, the remaining members dissolved the band and despite fans’ continuous pleads, they didn’t start over together.

They came together for a concert on the occasion of the 40. anniversary of Atlantic Records, but it went disastrous because of some deep tensions between the members. However, on the 10th of December 2007, singer Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Pafe, bassist John Paul Jones, and Bonham’s drummer son Jason still decided to perform on the O2 Arena’s stage in London on the commemoration concert for Ahmet Ertegun, Atlantic’s founder. At this event, subsequently released on CD and DVD, the band played all of their great hits, just like Whole Lotta Love, Kashmir and Stairway to Heavent.

Since 1968, Led Zeppelin sold around 200 million records all over the world.
